About Coach

Sports have been an integral part of my life since I was a toddler. I began playing softball at the age of three and continued throughout my college years. As an adult, I also participated in recreational softball, soccer, and long-distance cycling. Growing up around sports teams has had a profound impact on the athletes I coach today. I have a deep understanding of what it means to be part of a team, the challenges and sacrifices required to “dig deep” and find that extra gear, and the emotions of wanting to quit or failing, but recognize that these difficult times are where the true magic lies. Turning Point

Even though I was an athlete throughout my life, playing sports in high school and college, I gained significant weight after having my children in the late 2000s. When I first entered a CrossFit gym, I weighed almost 250 pounds. Binge eating, depression, and a lack of physical exercise had severely affected my body, mind, and overall health. I was on anti-depressants, using food to cope with my emotions, and was deeply unhappy with my body. Initially, during the first three months of CrossFit, I made no changes. I continued to binge eat, neglected to track my food intake, and simply aimed to establish a consistent gym routine. The overwhelming feeling of too many changes led me to start with consistent attendance. One change at a time. Despite not altering my eating habits, I managed to lose 30 pounds during those initial three months. When I began tracking my food, making healthier food choices, and continued going to the gym, the real transformations started to take place. Six years later, I have lost almost 100 pounds, I have completely weaned off my anti-depressants, and I am healthier at 45 than I was at 25.

Motivation & Passion

I’m passionate about coaching because I’ve personally experienced the transformative power of proper nutrition and physical exercise. I want everyone to feel as happy and fulfilled in their bodies as I do. My goal is to assist individuals in reaching their goals, discovering their motivations, and making healthier choices in all areas of their lives. Witnessing an athlete accomplish something they once deemed impossible, whether it’s lifting a heavier weight or achieving a personal best, is what truly makes coaching the most fulfilling profession.
